Arms of the Peterborough Community Police ServiceBlazonVert a fess wavy abased Argent charged with two barrulets wavy Azure all surmounted by a sword point in base Or; SymbolismThe shield is inspired by the emblem previously used by the joint police service that was created by Peterborough and Lakefield in 1998. The green field and sword are derived from the arms of the city of Peterborough, the green symbolizing the Irish immigrants brought by Peter Robinson and the sword representing the veterans of the Napoleonic wars and the War of 1812 who received land grants in the area. The wavy bars represent the Otonabee River. |
