Symbolism
This flag is based on Her Majesty The Queen’s personal flag for use in Canada, and uses the Royal Arms of Canada, in banner form, as its basis. The wreath of maple leaves in the centre is a further indication of Canada. It encloses the cypher of His Royal Highness The Prince Andrew, The Duke of York, composed of the letter “A” with a coronet above it that indicates that he is a child of the sovereign. The three-point white label charged with a blue anchor is taken from his coat of arms.
