Badge of the Canadian Special Operations Regiment

Blazon

A V-42 dagger proper between two wings Or, all within a laurel wreath Sable charged at the base with two arrows in saltire Or;

Symbolism

The V-42 dagger was the fighting knife of the First Special Service Force (FSSF) and links the Canadian Special Operations Regiment (CSOR) to allied commando units. It is the main Canadian Special Operations Forces Command (CANSOFCOM) symbol. The crossed arrows signify friendship and are a link to the 1st Canadian Special Service Battalion, the founding Canadian Special Operations Forces (SOF) unit. The laurel wreath symbolizes excellence in education and diplomacy as undertaken by the unit. The wings signify swiftness, exemplified in the unit’s readiness to undertake operations around the world.
