Arms of St. Paul's Anglican ChurchBlazonGules a sword Argent hilt and pommel in chief Or surmounted by a fess wavy Argent charged with a bar wavy Azure, and, in base, by an open book Argent; SymbolismThe arms use emblems traditionally associated with St. Paul in Christian symbolism. The red colour is indicative of martyrdom; the book refers to his epistles found in the New Testament; and the sword was the instrument of his martyrdom. The wavy stripes in the middle make a reference to the motto and the parish’s location near the Grand River. |
MottoBlazonHE SHALL RULE FROM THE RIVER TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH; SymbolismThis is taken from Psalm 72:8 and affirms the parish’s belief in God’s sovereignty over all the world. The reference to the River also refer to the Grand River. |
