Argent a knight in armour mounted on a horse proper, both liveried Sable and Gules and set on cloud proper;

Symbolism

During the Second World War, this squadron was known as the “Black Knight Squadron”. The knight symbolizes fair but mortal combat, while the cloud indicates air combat. Black is the colour of night fighters. Black, red and white are the squadron’s colours.
