A gavel and scroll in saltire Sable surmounted of a Griffin's head erased Or gorged with a Loyalist military coronet Gules;

Symbolism

The scroll represents Mr. Kennedy’s interest in records, and the griffin, a traditional guardian of treasure, represents the importance he places on safekeeping such records. The gavel reflects Mr. Kennedy’s interest in chairing meetings. The Loyalist coronet refers to Mr. Kennedy’s descent from United Empire Loyalist ancestors.
