Azure a starburst encircled by a life preserver Argent cabled Or charged in chief with a maple leaf Gules;

Symbolism

The life preserver is a rebus on the ship’s name. The red maple leaf symbolizes that this is a Canadian ship. The starburst represents the flare that is automatically ignited when the life preserver touches the water.

LE COEUR DE LA FLOTTE;

Symbolism

Meaning “The heart of the fleet”.
