Arms of Anne Pennington MayerBlazonOr five fusils conjoined in fess, on a canton Azure a raven Argent as styled by the Haida artist Patrick McGuire; SymbolismA gold shield with five blue fusils is traditionally associated with Celtic Norse Pennington armigers in early rolls of arms. Gold and blue are also the school colours of Penrhos College, North Wales, the École hôtelière, Lausanne, and the colours of the Soroptimist International, all being bodies with which Mrs. Pennington Mayer has been associated. The raven in the canton is a design originally handcrafted from a silver dollar in 1964 by Haida artist Patrick McGuire for Mr. Gyula Mayer to present to Anne Pennington on their wedding day. |
