Arms of Stephen Joseph LautensBlazonGyronny Argent and Gules two arrows in saltire Sable; SymbolismThe design is based on the arms attributed to the name “Lautenschläger”, which was the name of Mr. Lautens’ great-grandfather who arrived in Canada from Austria in the 1870s. Mr. Lautens’ version has the arrows in black rather than gold, and with the background divided into eight rather than four. The colours of red and white allude to both countries. |
