Blazon

Vert three nightingales statant close, on a chief embattled Argent an open book between two trillium flowers proper;

Symbolism

The nightingales, famed as songbirds, refer to Dean Wall’s training in vocal music and to the fact that he is one of the “Three Cantors” singing group. The crenellated line refers to the name Wall. The book represents his interest in liturgy, and the trillium flowers, the floral emblem of Ontario, are from the coat of arms of the Diocese of Niagara, of which Peter Wall is Dean. The green and white colours are those of the diocese and of Christ’s Church Cathedral, Hamilton, of which Peter Wall is Rector.
