Blazon

Argent on a pallet Gules between two pallets Azure each charged with an organ pipe, a conductor’s baton Argent;

Symbolism

Red and white are the colours of Canada while blue represents water and the importance it has in Her Honour’s life. The pipes and baton indicate Her Honour’s music career, including her work as a choir director and an organist.

A Salt Bank schooner proper its hull Azure flying a streamer paly Gules and Argent;

Symbolism

The boat resembles the Mercy Coles, a Salt Bank schooner once owned by Her Honour. It refers to her love of sailing. The streamer’s colours allude to the provincial flag.

Motto

IN CONSONANTIA;

Symbolism

This Latin phrase, meaning “In harmony”, refers on one level to the importance of music in Her Honour’s life, and on another level to her philosophy of life.

Two great blue herons each holding in its beak a lady’s slipper flower proper and issuant from barry wavy Argent and Azure;

Symbolism

The herons are graceful water-dwelling birds native to Prince Edward Island, and the Lady’s slipper flowers are the provincial floral emblem. The traditional heraldic stylization of water continues the theme of the importance of water to Her Honour.
