Blazon

Azure an oak leaf Or environed by six acorns palewise, in base a point pointed Argent;

Symbolism

The name Codack, of Old English origin, means “the heart of the oaks” or possibly “a clearing in the oak forest.” This is represented by the oak leaf in the centre surrounded by acorns. The six acorns represent Mr. Codack’s children. The white base represents the snowy slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Issuant from a coronet Azure the upper rim set with triangles per pale Argent and Azure, a demi-eagle displayed Or;

Symbolism

The eagle represents strength and dignity and the love for Germany. The coronet symbolizes the love of the sea and sailing. The white and blue triangles illustrate a sail in light and another in shadow.

Symbolism

This Latin phrase meaning “Conquer destiny” reflects Mr. Codack’s view that nothing can be left to fate, and any outcome can be determined if managed.

Symbolism

The oak branch alludes to Mr. Codack’s name, and to his being a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Toronto, which has an oak tree as crest.
