The crown topping the anchor recalls the colony of Port-Royal where the first ancestor, Michel Boudreau, and his wife, Michelle Aucoin, settled c.1639. The pioneer couple, so to speak, “dropped anchor” in the New World to establish a family. The crown is decorated with eleven fleurs-de-lis representing their eleven children.
