Arms of Marc-André Rioux LtéeBlazonAzure three orbs in bend between two bendlets all within a bordure Or; SymbolismThe arms echo the symbolism found on Mr. Gilbert Rioux’s coat of arms with a gold border to indicate that the business was founded by the Rioux family. Historically, orbs symbolize temporal power. Here, they represent part of the motto of Marc-André Rioux Ltée, a business founded by Mr. Rioux’s father. They are also a reference to New France and to Seigneur Jean Riou, the family’s earliest ancestor in Canada. |

The lightning bolts and sceptre refer to communication and power. The fact that these two elements are held by the dove means that they are in the service of peace. |

The lynx is known for its keen eyesight; here, it is used allegorically. Each animal is holding a banner bearing a monogram consisting of the letters M, A and R, representing the name of the funeral home and the business’s former emblem. The elements of the mount in base symbolize the environment of the Parc des Chutes in Rivière-du-Loup. |
