Blazon

Ermine a pastoral staff and a key in saltire Or, on a chief wavy Azure a range of snow-capped mountains proper issuant from barry wavy Azure and Argent;

Symbolism

The key and pastoral staff are symbols of episcopal authority and pastoral care. The ermine background is taken from the arms of the Diocese of Rupert’s Land, the original diocese in Western Canada. The mountains refer to the mountain ranges in the diocese, and the wavy bands to the Kootenay River.
