    Richard Lucas, LaSalle, Quebec Governor General's Caring Canadian Award For Richard Lucas, the Royal Canadian Legion is about serving fellow veterans and more. He has been a Legion member for 40 years and currently heads the branch in the Montreal area of LaSalle. Over the years, he has worked hard for veterans as well as for other seniors, youth and persons with disabilities. For close to 30 years, he has led the LaSalle Legion's March of Dimes campaign. In addition to raising funds on behalf of the disabled, he works to provide them with necessary equipment such as wheelchairs or walkers. His aim is to ensure that the Legion continues to be recognized as an organization helping the less fortunate.
