Curator of Canadian Art at the Art Gallery of Ontario and Professor at the University of Toronto, he has contributed greatly to the understanding and appreciation of Canadian art. Through exhibitions, lectures and writings he has brought recognition to Canadian artists who have helped to define our national character with their colours and brushes. He is highly regarded by scholars, dealers, collectors, artists and gallery volunteers for his dedication and expertise in documenting our visual traditions and history of art from the early to the contemporary.
