A much-loved Maritimer and former CBC broadcaster, he has used his retirement to work on behalf of several charitable organizations, most notably the Isaac Walton Killam Children's Hospital Telethon. As host, he has helped raise millions of dollars annually. He also uses his skills and talent to make voice and video tapes that assist the fund-raising efforts of the Canadian Cancer Society, the Kidney Foundation of Canada and the Heart Foundation.
