Graham Farquharson is an icon in Canada’s mining industry. Founder of Strathcona Mineral Services, he led challenging extraction projects while successfully building strong communities in the Canadian Arctic, effectively benefiting partners and stakeholders alike. He has contributed greatly to both public mining companies and professional associations, and has helped improve ethical governance within the sector, notably through his audit that exposed the Bre-X Minerals scandal. A beloved mentor to students and a generous philanthropist, he funds university scholarships and kidney cancer research at the Princess Margaret and Sunnybrook hospitals.
