More than twenty years ago, Diane Dupuy organized a benefit puppet show for the mentally-challenged persons in Hamilton. From this beginning her work advanced until, in Toronto in 1974, she founded the Famous People Players, a troupe of mentally-challenged artists manipulating large puppets of famous entertainers under "black light". More recently they have developed original productions which have toured this continent and made television appearances.
