While pursuing a successful business career, Mr. Pickering devoted much time and energy to the arts in Toronto. President of Massey Hall and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, he was the motive force behind the creation of Roy Thomson Hall. He is also known for an important report on the medical profession in Ontario.
