Ronald Gold is an expert in infectious diseases and has worked to eradicate meningitis globally. A former professor at the University of Toronto and Head of the Division of Infectious Disease at the Hospital for Sick Children, he is a pre-eminent advisor to the Meningitis Foundation of Canada and co-founder of the worldwide Confederation of Meningitis Organizations. He has mentored hundreds of students and inspired many to specialize in paediatric medicine.
