Governor General's Symposium on Mental Health

October 8, 2025

The Governor General's Mental Health Learning and Listening tour culminated in a Symposium at the Citadelle in Québec. Located within the Citadelle of Québec, the residence of the governor general has been the second official residence of Canada’s governors general since 1872.

The Symposium convened changemakers, public officials and representatives from the cross‑country tour, consolidating a nationwide network of multidisciplinary experts, partners and practitioners united in championing mental health in Canada.

During my Mental Health Learning and Listening Tour, I met with Canadians who are redefining mental health and making a tangible difference across the country. They are taking action to foster communication, reduce stigma and share innovative practices to ensure all Canadians have access to the support they need.

Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada
