Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, presided over the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Mark Carney and members of the 30th Canadian ministry at Rideau Hall.
Shortly before the ceremony, Her Excellency welcomed Justin Trudeau at Rideau Hall who presented his resignation as prime minister. During the day, the governor general also informed the King of the swearing-in of Mark Carney as the 24th prime minister of Canada.
