As commander-in-chief, Governor General Mary Simon laid a wreath at the National War Memorial during a Remembrance service for Commonwealth veterans.

Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, welcomed delegates of the Royal Commonwealth Ex-Services League to Canada and delivered Loyal Greetings on behalf of His Majesty King Charles III during an event at the Château Laurier in Ottawa.
The Royal Commonwealth ex-Services League binds us together, across the 48 Nations it represents and serves. I am immensely proud to commemorate the work you do to help the veterans to whom we owe so much.
