Prime Minister Mark Carney presented Governor General Mary Simon with an instrument of advice recommending the dissolution of Parliament, which she approved.
Next, Her Excellency, acting in the name of His Majesty The King, executed proclamations under the Great Seal of Canada dissolving Parliament and declaring that election writs be issued.
Finally, the Prime Minister submitted an instrument of advice for the Governor General to issue a proclamation summoning a new Parliament, which she executed in the name of His Majesty The King.
