Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, welcomed leaders from the international community ahead of the G7 Summit in Kananaskis, Alberta.
The Governor General greeted President of France Emmanuel Macron as well as President of the United States of America Donald Trump as they each arrived in Canada for the G7 Summit.

The Governor General hosted a dinner for leaders participating in the G7 Summit outreach session.
This year marks 50 years since the G7 process began - five decades of cooperation among members.
About the G7
Traditionally, the G7 engages leaders from the international community through outreach sessions at the Summit. The G7 host invites country leaders and representatives from international organizations to broaden the scope of discussions and build consensus on pressing global issues.
