Governor General delivers remarks at the opening of the Our Land, Our Art exhibition

Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, delivered brief remarks at the official opening of the Our Land, Our Art exhibition at the Canadian Museum of Nature.

The Our Land, Our Art exhibition provides a glimpse of life in Nunavik from the people who live and work there.

In order to develop the exhibition, the Avataq Cultural Institute put out a call to seven Nunavik artists to create original pieces of art inspired by the Institute’s collections. Their works illustrate the profound link that connects these artists to nature, to the land and to their communities.
