The Governor General hosted a conversation entitled "What is the Universe Made of? Let’s Ask Some Experts." with VIctoria Kaspi, C.C., and René Doyon.
Session #1 (English): Victoria Kaspi, C.C.
The first session was held in English with Victoria Kaspi, professor of physics at McGill University and Director of the McGill Space Institute. Her primary research centres on observational studies of neutron stars, during which she uses radio and X-ray telescopes to examine pulsars—rapidly rotating, highly magnetized neutron stars.
Session #2 (French): René Doyon
The second session was held in French with René Doyon, professor of physics at l’Université de Montréal and Director of the Observatoire du Mont-Mégantic and of the Institute for Research on Exoplanets (iREx). He is also a member of the Royal Society of Canada.
