An internationally respected neuroscientist and Professor at the University of British Columbia, he has devoted his career to research into the cause and treatment of epilepsy. Among his many accomplishments, he introduced a new diagnostic procedure to locate speech and memory function in the brain, thus making more accurate surgery possible. Founder and first President of the Canadian League Against Epilepsy, he has worked tirelessly to co-ordinate scientific, medical and lay interests in epilepsy.
