Russ Murphy has been an active member of the Pender Island and Prince Edward branches of the Royal Canadian Legion for more than 40 years, serving on the executive as president, vice-president, Poppy Campaign chair, sergeant-at-arms and branch service officer. He also volunteered as a coach of minor-league sports for over 50 years.
