Remembrance Day and New Eduzone Quiz

Every year, His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada, takes part in the Remembrance Day ceremonies, paying tribute to the men and women who have sacrificed their lives in service to their country and to humanity. Click here to read the Governor General’s message to Canadians on this day of remembrance.

Did you know that the governor general plays a major role in recognizing the important contribution of Canada’s military at home and abroad? Indeed, as the commander-in-chief of Canada, the governor general carries out numerous responsibilities with respect to the Canadian Armed Forces.

Learn more about the role of commander-in-chief by trying our new quiz, which is aimed at high school students or anyone looking for a challenge. The learning outcomes are to improve reading, observation and Internet research skills. The quiz consists of 20 questions and should take 15-20 minutes to complete.
